Not more than five shops, categorised under non-essential services, will be allowed to stay open on a single road, lane Many parts of Pune might be able to return to normal after months of stern lockdown. As per the new
order issued by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the shops from areas — where no or few positive coronavirus cases have been reported — might be able to keep open. According to the orders issued by cops, these relaxations will be applicable between 10 am and 6 pm.
The Union government has announced the extension of the lockdown till May 17, along with which they issued fresh guidelines on relaxations in various areas. Based on this order, state government on Sunday issued a fresh diktat, according to which more than five shops in alane or on a road — apart from the outlets selling essential goods — that sell non-essential entities will be allowed to remain open.
The order issued by PMC states that the positive patients in the city are mostly confined to few areas. The areas under containment will continue to remain sealed. Except for medical and essential supplies, no other
activity will be permitted.
Outside the containment zone, however, multiple relaxations will be provided. Use of vehicles will be allowed only for the specified work. Metro work and pre-monsoon repairs and constructions will now progress. Construction work will only be allowed for in situ projects. Ecommerce activities will be allowed.
The pass system, wherein an individual is required to procure permits to travel for activities apart from groceries, will function as it is. PMC officials have been mandated to remain present as per the norms.
Citizens will not be allowed to venture out without any reason and will have to face action if they do.

PMC authorities have decided to categorize the areas into microclusters. These are – Juna Baazar in Mangalwar Peth, Velankarnagar, Laxminarayan Theatre, Parvati Darshan, ST colony and Panchami in Parvati Darshan I and the west portion of Rambhau Mhalgi Road in Parvati Darshan II. In Parvati Chawl, plot no. 526 will continue to remain under containment.
Dandekar Bridge and Ambil Odha Colony, Parvati final plot no. 558 in Dattawadi, Indiranagar Basti near Neelayam theatre, Kasba, Vishrambaug Wada, Bhavani Peth, Somwar peth, Mangalwar Peth, Budhwar
Peth, Guruwar Peth, Shukrawar Peth, Ravivar Peth, Rasta Peth, Nana Peth, Ganj Peth, Kasba Peth and Ghorpadi Peth have also been declared as micro containment zones. Kondhwa will continue to be under containment.

Parts of Pune station area and Tadiwala Road are also being put under restriction. Area around Shivajinagar railway station and colony on its south, Ghorpadi Peth, Balajinagar, Vikas Nagar, Taljai Vasti, Bibwewadi, parts of Yerawada, Hadapsar-Ramtekdi, Ramnagar, Sayyadnagar, Gulamalinagar-Akashdarshan Colony, Satavwadi, Malwadi, Handewadi Road, Indiranagar, Kondhwa Khurd, Bhagyoday Nagar, Mitha Nagar, Wanowrie SRPF, a vasti near Kamgar statue will continue to be under containment.
Narveer Tanaji Wadi, area around labour commissioner’s office and area behind Congress Bhavan will also be under restrictions.
All the remaining areas will be allowed to become functional as per the fresh norms.
