678 positive instances registered in Maharashtra; 15 patients discharged from various hospitals in the state after recovery on Sunday On Sunday, seven deaths were reported due to novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the district, taking the death toll to 110. Meanwhile, 99 new cases were identified in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and six virus-positive cases were reported in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC)
limits, respectively. A total number of 678 cases were registered in the state on Sunday, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 12,974. Some 115 patients were discharged from various hospitals in the state after recovery.
At least 17 patients in PMC area continue to be critical, while 58 are in intensive care units (ICU). This has taken the tally of total number of active cases in the city to 1,283. No deaths were reported in PCMC limits. The positive patients in the twin towns are from Pimple Saudagar, Chinchwad, Old Sangvi and Moshi.

Of the seven deaths reported in Pune on Sunday, five passed away at Sassoon General Hospitals (SGH) and two deaths were reported at Bharati Hospital.
One of the deceased was a 76-yearold male, a resident of Mangalwar Peth. The patient was symptomatic since April 27 and admitted to SGH on April 30.
He passed away on May 1and tested positive for the virus on May 2. He had type 1respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome and bilateral
pneumonia. A 72-year-old male from Tadiwala Road was symptomatic from April 30 and hospitalised at SGH on May 1. He passed away on the same day
but tested positive on May 2. He had acute respiratory failure, bilateral pneumonitis, pneumothorax with atrial fibrillation and fast ventricular rhythm.
